VA has from 1700:1 to 5000:1 depending on the monitor. Most gaming IPS monitors have 1150:1 contrast ratio and I think it would be enough. AOC 24G2 has 1450:1. Just avoid Nano-IPS. It has way oversaturated colors and a lower contrast ratio of 800:1 which is worse than some TNs. r/Monitors.
When comparing display technologies for color reproduction, IPS panels cover 95 percent of the wider color gamuts. VA panels are in the middle, covering anywhere from 80 to 90 percent of the wide color space. On the contrary, TN panels only cover the sRGB space and do not cover the wider color gamuts.
VA (which stands for vertical alignment) displays use vertically aligned crystals that are backlit. Whilst you’ll find IPS technology in a wide range of displays, you’ll only really find VA technology in monitors and TVs. Like IPS panels, VA monitors provide clear images, but they’re especially good – arguably the best – at displaying
VA vertical viewing angle. Discussion. I know VA panels have a maximum horizontal viewing angle of 20°, otherwise you will lose image saturation. I call horizontal viewing angle the angle between the screen axis and the direction of users' sight (so 20° would be me looking at the right side of the screen with the head turned right 20°).
The Vizio P Series Quantum 2021 is a great TV that replaces the Vizio P Series Quantum 2020. It improves in a few areas compared to its predecessor, but there are some disappointments for a high-end 4k TV. It's still plagued with bugs and issues, like having issues with proper chroma 4:4:4 with 120Hz signals.
I moved from TN to VA to IPS. VA and IPS are very similar in colour accuracy, they both look beautiful. TN is ugly as hell. VA's colours may not be better than IPS but it has the best blacks. Get anything but a TN panel if you want good colours. Go for it, it's gorgeous. Just be careful with the pick, some monitors have serious ghosting issues.
The Q70C QLED TV has a 120Hz panel that delivers good motion clarity. The TV uses a 120Hz black frame insert that cannot be turned off. As a result, moving objects sometimes have a distinct double border. The motion interpolation is very good. In this model, Samsung uses a VA panel , but without local dimming.
Viewing Angle Technology. To improve viewing angles on VA panel TVs, companies have introduced viewing angle technology, like Samsung's 'Ultra Viewing Angle' and Sony's 'X-Wide Angle'. This improves the viewing angles a bit at the cost of its contrast, but the contrast still isn't as low as IPS panels.
